Our family just now added a pug puppy to our home and we utterly love her . She is 8 wks. old and her name is Madison.Potty house training her is proving to be an interesting experience.
It is not strange for pugs to have days that they do actual good and then its like she is crazy at us for something and that is how she is getting back at us You should see the look on her face
On certain days our pug likes a dear old whine specially on Monday and Tuesday, on Friday she is the happiest pug around, she knows when the weekend is fast approaching. Or if she can't get our attention for some cause she goes on her puppy pad and she gets all the extolment
Every book and training method possible has been used to try and housetrain her but not always with the result we were awaiting. Some weeks she wont go near her pad which is very foiling. On certain occasions we take her outside and she does nothing and waits until she comes back inside, but because we love her so much we just grin and bear it, we know we will sort it out at some stage, we know it isn't her fault but probably our training techniques which are trash.
We took her to the veterinarian for health check thinking maybe she had lice as pug dogs do get worms --negative on that.We do give her the odd little snack or treat, call it what you will but it really lights up her face and it is so worth seeing her smile
Now she is beginning to do her jobbies in her dog taxi which I cant work out, I am sure I saw on telly that pug puppies are known to do this . We commonly take her out every hour sometimes less if she has depleted a lot of water. She copes to last eight to 10 hours depending on how long she snoozes for, A few weeks ago I left the door open so she could go to the toilet on her puppy pad but that was a failure. The next day a pair of my hubbys trousers were on the floor and she decided that would be a great place to go to the bathroom, he wasn't impressed
We never raise our voice at her just simply take her outside and tell her to go on the grass. Can you assists us Does she get confused by us taking her outside as well as giving her the option of the doggie pad.I cant imagine what we have done wrong so that she is so confused.Any help would be appreciated. What can we do to adjust her on the straight and narrow so that she is perfectly housetrained.
